API key

  1. I'm not exactly sure what an API key is. I want to post to my blog through writely.com and I need to enter my blog's API. I'm not sure what this would be, would it be something like http://swiftlab.wordpress.com/APIKEY?

  2. Nope, look in your account and you'll see..voila your API key.

  3. Actually it's:

Dashboard -> Users -> Your profile -> Along the top there.

    Hope this helps,
    -drmike

  4. I need the URL that I put in the writely blog settings under
My own server/custom > Blog URL

  5. Well, if it's your own server, you need to be over here as this forum is for blogs hosted at WP.com. But to answer your question, I would think where you just installed your WP blog would be the URL.

  6. No, I'm in the custom catagory. I use wordpress.com.

  7. AH, that makes sense. (Even I didn't get that honour.)

If you're using the swiftlab ID, it would be http: //swiftlab.wordpress.com

(Space added to get it to display correctly)

If it's not, I don't have a clue as I would need to know where your blog is. I had thought that staff was setting up those themselves though.

  8. Thanks.

  9. Actually I stand corrected. If it's the swiftlab one, add in the http:// to the URL. Not sure why it didn't take up there.

  10. I'm trying to find my API key .. I looked on dashboard of my new account and here's what I see ... it looks like a missing API key. what do I do to get one?

"Your WordPress.com API key is: . Don't share your API key"

  11. Send feedback to the admin team. They'll be able to sort it for you.

    Collin
