API Key for WordPress.com Stats doesn't work

  1. The owner of that API Key (xxxx) is not on the access list for this blog (2933800). Stats was installed using a different API key. The owner of the original key can add users to the access list, or you can contact WordPress.com support.

The blog I need help with is carversation.wordpress.com.

  2. The URL is actually http://www.bmwblog.com, blog id 2933800

    Here is the new error:

You are not a member of this site.

If you have just installed the WordPress.com Stats plugin, this error probably appeared because the API key entered in the plugin belongs to a different WordPress.com user account.

The owner of the API key must visit this site's stats page to grant access.

  3. Any staff that can help with this?

  4. WordPress stats were replaced quite some time ago now with the Jetpack plugin. Some JetPack solutions are here http://jetpack.me/support/
Others are in the JetPack support forum at WordPress.org
    http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
Note: If you don't have a username account at WordPress.org, click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post there.

However, if you can't find help at either one then you can file a JetPack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

  5. I know it has been replaced, unfortunately I can't install it due to a conflict with the custom theme. I think this is just an issue with the WordPress.com account since it has worked fine for the last 6 years. I removed and reinstalled WordPress.com Stats and that's when the username got disassociated from the account. I was told someone in the backend can fix this.

  6. You can file a JetPack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service

  7. Thanks.

But is it a Jetpack issue or just WordPress.com? Since I don't use the pack.

  8. This site http://www.bmwblog.com/ is NOT a WordPress.com hosted blog. Which site are you referring to?

  9. It is self-hosted, but the account for WordPress.com Stats plugin is on WordPress.com. So not sure exactly where to reach out for support.

  10. SIGH ... they only place you can file a stats related JetPack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
