API key not working

  1. I've had some issues with getting WordPress.com Stats to work, and it still doesn't work. I've tried to open a new wordpress.com account and enter that API key on my blog, but get this message:

Error from last API Key attempt:
The owner of that API Key (xxxx) is not on the access list for this blog (xxxxxx). To be added to the access list, you must contact support.

What to do, what to do...?

The blog I need help with is stiern.com.

  2. The blog you specified at stiern.com does not appear to be hosted at WordPress.com.

This support forum is for WordPress.com hosted blogs only. If you have a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to seek help at the WordPress.org forums, not here.

If you don't understand the difference, you may find this information helpful.

  3. They send me here...

  4. @pshoeg, that is an automated reply that is triggered when you do not specify a wordpress.COM blog.

Support for the blog stats plugin is indeed handled here, but the people responding in this forum are for the most part volunteers and since the stats here are automatic we know virtually nothing about the stats plugin.

WordPress blog stats plugin issues or questions need to be sent directly to support at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ .

If you do not have a blog here, then go to the above link while logged out and click the "I don't have a blog" button and then you can contact support.
