API key not working for Stats plugin

    Hello folks,
    I recently installed a new blog at oligasser.07x.net and i saw the useful wp-stats plugin. So i installed it as written in the readme but i got one problem: If I enter my API key it notifies me that "the API key belongs to oligasser on WordPress". and then it asks me if i want to change the api key or "Add to WordPress.com Account". I obviously chose the last option and here comes the following error: "Missing API key" (screenshot: http://img160.imageshack.us/img160/7775/bildschirmfotonf7.png). if i then enter my APi key and click SAVE the process begins anew.
    PS: My API key is working fine for Akismet.

    Error issues with the API key and Stats plug-in seem to be resolved best by contacting wordpress.com support.

    basically give the info you gave here.
