   I'm using wordpress.com to host a blog in German (gruebelei.de) and I got a problem with RSS feeds that have mutated vowels ("Umlaute") in their title. The RSS-Widget seems to be unable to interpret these characters. I doublechecked with the authors of the feeds (one is a wordpress.org blog) and they say their feeds match UTF-8. There's no problem with these feeds in other RSS-readers, only in wordpress' RSS widget.

   Any ideas how to solve that problem?

   The feeds I in the widget are:
   http://www.schoenen-dunk.de/news.rss
   http://waskommtnachdirk.de/feed/

   The blog I need help with is gruebelei.de.

   Send this directly into support at http://support.wordpress.com/contact/ so they can take a look at it and make adjustments as necessary.

   not resolved but support offered a perfect workaroud: just enter a custom title in the widget.

   (I shuold think definitely think before bothering support...)

   Thanks for posting the workaround. I hadn't thought of that either so you are not alone.
