"Appearance > Widgets" does not show up on my Dashboard

  1. I recently took over a club website and I have looked and looked and I just don't see "Appearance" under the Dashboard so I can update my widgets on my sidebar. I emailed the previous webmaster and she told me where to look, same as support on here does, and it just is not there.

Help please? What am I missing?

The blog I need help with is northcountytoastmasters.org.

  2. Then you are not the Admin of the blog. Please read this > http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator

Every blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the username account who registered the blog under that username account. The blog's owner must add you username account as an Admin. Then they must use the process to transfer the blog to your username account. See:
    adding users http://en.support.wordpress.com/adding-users/
    user roles http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  3. Thank you. I was just reading something that made me think that that may be the problem. I will email her again to let her know to complete turn the blog over. Thank you again.

  4. She only needs to make you an Admin. She does not have to transfer the blog to your unless she no longer wants it.
