approving followers

  1. I would like to be able to approve who follows me, so that people I don't know can't follow me. How can I change that setting????

  2. Hi there,
You will need to set your blog to "private" from "public".

    Good luck!

  3. Thank you zandyring. I appreciate the reply. Out of curriosity, do you know what the norm is here? What do you do? I want to make new friends and all, just want to be careful. This is my first blog here. THANK YOU!

  4. You can't approve followers on a public blog. Any WordPress.com blogger who is logged in can click the link and follow your blog. You can't prevent anyone with interent access from susbcribing to an RSS feed on a public blog either.

You can disable the "follow" link for those who are not logged in WordPress.com users. Dashboard > Settings > Reading >
    Follower Settings
These settings change emails sent from your blog to followers.
Anonymous Followers __Show follow button to logged out users.
Leave this checked to allow anonymous users to follow you. Uncheck it to only allow registered WordPress.com users.

  5. Thank you timethief.
