Architecture blog looking for critique and input

  1. Greetings, I am a practicing architect who also teaches. This blog is a lot about sharing the fun and intriguing ideas of architecture and a little about self promotion.

thoughts on how my posts strike you?
    areas for improvement?
    am I on target?

The blog I need help with is saxonsangles.wordpress.com.

I think your blog is off to a great start! I think the incorporation of all the pictures is definitely ideal, and I particularly liked seeing some of the sketches as well. I don't have a background in architecture, but I do live in San Francisco and I've always loved the architecture here. Keep it up!

  3. thanks so much, I enjoyed your blog also

  4. neat! I love architecture - although the city where I live (Vancouver) doesn't have tons of architectural jewels (like say, Paris or London), there are some outstanding buildings, including several from Arthur Erickson.

Your blog has a cool combo - picture of buildings, sketches, books. So the content is pretty cool.

My only suggestion would be to perhaps add a category with stuff you've done - maybe take pictures of buildings and projects you've been involved, sort of like a visual portfolio and creative journal, other than that it looks great! Keep it up

    Cheers

  5. thanks so much for the thoughtful review, I do have one of my projects as a post and there are links to my website http://sigersonarchitects.com/ but I have wanted to be careful at the beginning of not marketing too directly by loading up with my own work. I like the creative journal idea and yes that could include project pics. One thing that is fun is to share the process. I have a post coming soon on that topic. thanks again

  6. Oh yes! I missed that... oops.... And yes I found the creative journal to be quite good when promoting your work (And keeping track of your ideas)

Looking fwd to your 2012 content!
