We cannot help without a link to the blog please.
or under profile it reads http://ethicalhouston.wordpress.com/
i've tried these sites and many of the icons are not on the
basic dashboard. no "links" or "pages" and how do i get widgets.
i've tried the widgets site and there seems to be things missing.
is there an advanced version?
We are of the opinion that you are either not the Admin of that blog or you are looking at the Global Dashboard, not the dashboard for that blog. Can you check the Admin bar, the grey bar at the top and click on My Dashboards and let us know what it says?
i did not start the blog, only took it over recently. not being
administrator might be the problem. do i need to have the old
administrator do something to transfer it to me or can i do it.
How? and thank you for your patience. newbies are a pain.
The old administrator needs to make you or someone the administrator IF they are comfortable with you having that level of access.
But what do you actually want to DO? You cannot "archive" posts and comments. You cannot flag them for attention later. You just have to keep track of what posts you want to keep an eye on.
I mean, unless you delete the posts or comments, they're all still there on the site. A simple search will pull them up if you can't see them in Recent Posts or the Dashboard or the Archives widget.
