Are multiple post pages possible

  1. I wanted to have multiple pages all within my one blogsite that I can post to. For example sometimes I would post to my "work" page, sometimes to my "philosophy" page and sometimes to my "news" page. Is this possible?

The blog I need help with is aldenmiller.wordpress.com.

  2. Pages are static and sit outside of the blog structure and you cannot put posts on "pages." All posts will show on the main blog page. There is no way to exclude posts from the main posts (blog) page. See this support document on the differences between pages and posts.

At wordpress.com, you organize posts by categorizing them and then you can either put the categories widget into the sidebar, or you can create a custom menu and put the categories into the custom menu.

If you do not want all the posts to show on the main page, then you can create a static front page for your site. If you wish, you can also create a "blog" page, but you do not have to if you do not want to.

  3. Thanks. I do have a category menu bar and I will use that route. Two questions though:

    1. The category menu bar does not seem to be showing up on my "mobile site" view. Is there a way to change this. The mobile view is so nice, but I don't want people going to my site using mobile view, not to be able to see critical information.

    2. The category pages on the menu bar come out saying "archive" in the heading. Is there a way to change this.

  4. That's one of the problems with the widgets. The mobile theme does not show the, or shows them down below the content on some themes. You could add them instead to the main menu as a dropdown and then they would show up with the rest of the tabs.

The "archive" title on category pages can be hidden with CSS if you have the Custom Design Upgrade, but that is the only way.
