Arranging (freezing) posts in Imbalance2

    Hi there,

    I'm slowly working through the Imbalance2 theme, and have the CSS upgrade. For the home page, I would like to include 3 columns:

    - The 1st one (far left of the screen) would be static (i.e it never moves position, but you are still able to hover over it to 'click more')
    - The 2nd and 3rd one (middle and far right of the screen respectively) would stack up the blog posts underneath each other. Again, it would ideally keep the same hovering and 'click more' functionality.

    Ideally, I'd also like to keep a static title ABOVE each of the 3 columns. So for example, I could call the 3rd column ('latest news', and each blog post would stack up underneath this news section) and the title for the 2nd column could be entitled 'expertise', or something like that.

    Is this possible in any way?

    I will flag this thread so it gets noved to the CSS Forun for you. In case you are bot clear on how the thene operates I think you will benefit from reading what follows.

    Imbalance 2 offers two layout options, fluid and fixed.
    Fluid means the width changes according to screen resolution (or the width of browser) your visitors use.
    Fixed means the width does not change according to screen resolution (or the width of browser) your visitors use.

    Column one is the blog title and tagline; you edit them in Settings > General.
    Columns two and three are for two menus; you create and load them in Appearance > Menus - instructions here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
    Column four is for widgets; you add them in Appearance > Widgets.

    For four columns of posts you go to Appearance > Theme Options and make sure the fixed layout option is selected.

    For four columns in the header area, you need to create and activate two custom menus.

    Hi timethief. Yes, thanks, maybe it'll help moving this to CSS forum as I think it'll require some coding. From the research I've done, it doesn't seem what I'm after can be achieved through more conventional tools already available with this theme or supplied bu wordpress.

    Aha. You should be able to do this one by using sticky posts.

    I'm sorry but it's not possible to adjust the layout of the Imbalance 2 theme that much using the WordPress.com tools like Custom Design.

    Thank you for your answers designsimply. I've tried the sticky post option, and that is near to what I want. But since it's not that simple to organise posts in columns, I'd like to understand some more the logic behind the publication of each post. In a sense, where in the home page is the next post going to appear? Is there a way I can re-organise posts? My issue so far is that, unless I can find a way of organising things, it's going to look very messy.
