Assigning photo on front page in Columnist theme?

    How do I choose the main photo to be displayed on front page? I'd like to be able to assign a specific photo for the main photo but cannot figure out the way to do it in the Columnist theme. I have recipes but want to show the finished product instead of random ingredients as it is now. Thanks!
