attach same image to multiple posts or pages

  1. Hi,

Can I attach same images(S) to multiple pages other than uploading the same image multiple times and attaching them each to the relevant page.

I have a standard set of images that I want to reuse on posts but do not want to upload duplicate images.

Perhaps there is simply a way to call through short code or whatever a slideshow or gallery from another post or page. This would solve my problem

    Thanks

    J

The blog I need help with is theneiya.org.

  2. The same image is straightforward - when you insert an image choose the "Insert from URL" option and put in the address of the image / media you want to use - the same image can be used many times.

  3. Yes you can call a gallery of images uploaded to another post. You get the ID number of that post and add this in the HTML editor of the other posts:

    [gallery id="NUMBER HERE"]

That will give you a gallery of three thumbnails per row. If that's not what you would prefer, you'll need more options on the shortcode, for instance:

    [gallery id="NUMBER HERE" columns="2"]

    or:

    [gallery id="NUMBER HERE" columns="1" size="full"]

You control the default size of thumbnails etc. in Settings>Media.

To find the ID number of a post, you go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of that post and check the info in the progress/status bar of your browser.

  4. If you want to reuse one picture (as opposed to a gallery) on multiple pages once you've uploaded it. When you are in your post or page, click on the Upload/Insert link and "Add an Image". Then in the window that comes up you can click on the Media Gallery to find the pictures you have already uploaded.

But you do have to do this in each individual page, so perhaps I'm not answering your question. :)

    What you mean is:
Then in the window that comes up you can click on the Media LIBRARY
    not Media gallery
