Attempting to map a Fatcow domain to WordPress.com

I am attempting to map a domain from Fatcow to WordPress.com and start using my WP.com site as my main website.

BUT I want to keep the Fatcow web mail and domain hosting (since WP.com doesn't do domain transfers.

In order to keep the Fatcow web mail (I also have it set up in gmail) I'll need to locate the wordpress.com 'A" Record IP Address (according to Fatcow) and update that in Fatcow domain manager.

I've looked all over and I can't find the A Record IP Address for wordpress.com. Please help!
    Blog url: http://ghostmodemedia.wordpress.com

  2. It's not possible to point to WordPress.com with an A record.

You'll need to map your domain according to these instructions:
    http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

And then obtain your MX records from Fatcow for your webmail. You can add the MX records after you map your domain, according to these instructions:

    http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/custom-dns/

Don't hesitate to contact us again if you need anymore help. :-)
