AutoFocus Theme questions

  1. So I really liked the theme "AutoFocus" and applied it to my blog http://skww.wordpress.com.

I found most settings, but I still have a few problems:

The sidebar is not working (even though according to the theme it should be) - I don't care if I have a right sidebar, or a bottom bar, but I want to have a couple widgets so I need a bar, or is there another solution (blogroll, facebook etc.) It shows on the page "About me" (the link is on the top right), but not on the homepage nor any of the posts ...

Is there a possibility with the theme, that it downsizes the pictures a little bit, so they are not that zoomed in on the homepage? Also at least for me the picture for Dec. 11. doesn't show on the homepage ... (if anyone knows why I would be grateful as well)

Is it possible to change the colour of the comments? (so the font?)

I tried to find a way to create such archives ( http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/autofocus/ ), but I couldn't figure out how - do I need to create a new page, or how does it work?

Sorry for the many questions, but I tried finding a solution for all of them, but I couldn't yet, so I would be very grateful if anyone has answers for those questions!

The blog I need help with is skww.wordpress.com.

  2. Does this help at all? AutoFocus supports a widgetized sidebar on pages only, not posts.

Widget-enabled sidebars are enabled on all pages.
Single post sidebars will in lieu of widgets show important post metadata.

  3. Have you read the other threads on this theme? You may be able to find the answer to your image question in one of them. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/autofocus

Is it possible to change the colour of the comments? (so the font?)

Yes, provided you have a custom design upgrade the color of fonts can be changed.

  4. Yeah - Thank you - must have overread it - well - as an expert - is there any other solution to get a blogroll, facebook page etc. on the posts - because if not sadly I might have to abandon this great theme :/

  5. I will read up on that - thx for the link!

  6. If what you mean is can I add a sidebar by using CSS editing the answer is "no".

    1. As timethief already showed, Autofocus displays the sidebar on static pages only.

    2. For the Dec. 11 image to show on the main page, you must upload it from your computer via the Add Media button of that post (you have probably inserted it in the post after you had uploaded it via Media > Add New or via the Add Media button of a different post).

    3. You don't create archive pages: they are your category, tag and monthly pages - created on the fly, accessible if you add the respective widgets. For example, these are your archive pages for your photography category and for December:
    http://skww.wordpress.com/category/photography/
    http://skww.wordpress.com/2011/12/

By the way, you must either change your mind about the background color or buy the Custom Design upgrade to change the color of your links (as the About tab, your categories etc are invisible).

Sorry, forgot your other question: main page displays the top right part of each photo, scaled up.

    (Er, top left.)

  10. What do you mean by "scaled up" please?

Larger, compared to the versions on the single post view.

(Stefansphotos asked: "Is there a possibility with the theme, that it downsizes the pictures a little bit, so they are not that zoomed in on the homepage?" Actually it's the opposite.)

  12. That's what I thought but I wanted to confirm. Thanks. :)

  13. Thank you timethief and panaghiotisadam for your help and time - all questions cleared up :)
