Automatic pingbacks still not working

    Hi there.

    I just wanted to check if this issue had ever become resolved. About six months ago, the issue of pingbacks not working was discussed here but it wasn't resolved then.

    Pingbacks work for me sometimes and not others. For example, I recently pinged this post on this post but the ping was unsuccessful. I tried just using the URL of the first post, and adding /pingback/ or /trackback/ to it but the ping did work in any case.

    The above example was a 'self-ping', but similarly, I sometimes receive pings from other blogs and sometimes don't.

    I would be grateful for any help. Thank you.

    (PS. This is a duplicate of another topic in which the HTML is messed up. Could a moderator delete the first topic and leave this one? Thank you and apologies.)

    I have tagged your dupe thread accordingly so it can be found and removed.

    On topic: I have trouble too, determining a pattern by which pingbacks and trackbacks are working as intended.

    I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems. I hope it gets resolved soon.

    I'm having the same trouble, and have had it since I started a year ago. I've been working around it by constantly going back and saving my published post over and over until the other pingbacks to my own weblog show up. Today, however, I've saved one post a couple dozen times and only two of my four pingbacks have worked.

    That seems like a cumbersome process you have there, drmathochist. :) I'm not sure I would have the patience for that.
