Automatic Redirection from Blogspot to WordPress?

  1. I have just switched from Blogspot to WordPress and I am wondering if it's possible to make all of my links redirected to my new WordPress blog. As in, when someone tries to visit my Blogspot blog, I want them to be automatically redirected.

Does anyone know how to do this? I have looked online but I haven't found anything.

    Thanks!

This IMO is a question that you ought to post on the Blogger forum.

  3. That's a good point, but I actually don't think they'll let me post it.

Why not? Either Blogger offers automatic re-direction or they don't.
    Wordpress.com does not.
So what wordpress.com bloggers who move to other hosting do is post either a post or a text widget in the wordpress.com blog that has the link to the new blogsite in it. Maybe that's what you'll end up doing too.

As you are new and as wordpress.com software and policies are very different from Blogger's here's a link to the basic resources Beginner's Guide http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=11280

You may also benefit from reading this http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/ and from reading Section 2, 5th bullet of the ToS. http://wordpress.com/tos/ The reason I'm offering these to you is because some bloggers coming from Blogger don't take the time to read them and become upset later on when they discover they cannot advertise on wordpress.com blogs and wordpress.com blogs cannot be used to drive traffic to 3rd party sites.

  5. Good point. Thanks a lot for all the info and the links. I'll go check over on the Blogspot forums and see if anyone will answer.

Your welcome and good luck. :)

  7. Hmmm...no response over at Blogspot. Does anyone have any further ideas?

  8. Switch your Blogger template to Classic mode, and copy/paste the following code in place of your existing template:

    <html><br /> <head><br /> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=http://jebkoogler.wordpress.com"><br /> </head><br /> <body></body><br /> </html><br />

Obviously replace jebkoogler.wordpress.com with the secret url of your real blog ;)

  9. clever ... lol ;)

  10. Thanks wank! That worked for me as well. :D

  11. Let's hear it for the ladies --- w00t!
What could be more cool than a clever girl geek? ;)

  12. if blogspot.com is banned in Burma, will this code work to redirect to wordpress?
wordpress is not banned in Burma.
