Right. Is there a way to get rid of those twee designs now showing up as faux avatars for people who leave Comments at my blog?

You know, there are USEFUL things WordPress could accomplish.
Yes, you can go under Settings->Discussion and change the default avatar to Blank or just turn off avatars, etc.
Don't you like the Amish quilt look? It was covered on the wordpress blog a couple of days ago; there are several options for avatars now.
I never read announcements having to do with them. I loathe them.
What I didn't realize is WordPress's penchant for turning things ON as default!
