Background image in Twenty Ten if you have CSS Upgrade

  1. Dear fellow-bloggers,

    does anybody happen to know how to add a background image to Twenty Ten if you have the CSS Upgrade?

    I thought something like this would help

    background url(http://vergiftet.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/wallpaper1.jpg) bottom right no-repeat;<br /> padding-bottom: 100px;

    but no, nothing changes.

    Any help is welcome.

    (The bad thing about CSS upgrade is that you have to do all the changes in CSS instead of the editor-window.)

    The blog I need help with is barokeszter.hu.

  2. You can use the background image feature at appearance > background to upload and place your background image. That works even with the Custom Design upgrade.

    If you want to do it through CSS though, this would be it.

    body {
    background: url("http://vergiftet.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/wallpaper1.jpg") repeat fixed 0 0 transparent;
    }

    I did a "fixed" so the background does not scroll with the content since it is a tiled image, but if you want it to scroll, then just replace "fixed" above with "scroll."

  3. Thank you very much! Well, the "appearance" background image upload does not work for me... and in the past three years, since i've had CSS upgrade, it never has, no matter which theme I used (luckily the "header" upload works)... So it must be a bug then! o_O

  4. You are welcome. I set twenty ten on my test blog with the Custom Design upgrade and added a background at appearance > background just fine. Not sure what the issue is with your site.

    The important thing though is you have your background now.
