clearwat1I had previously backed up my WP blog using the interface...but the backup is in sql format... is there a way to create a new WP blog and import the older posts (back to 2001!)? There is a ton of info that I need to revive.

If you are dealing with SQL, you're in the wrong forum. You need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ which is where self-hosted wordpress blogs are supported. Here we have no access to SQL nor can we back up any databases or such.
