Basic Maths. Page Templates. WP.com v.s. WP.org. Converting from one to the oth

  1. I just bought custom design and a theme on WordPress.com (and have a web address hosted by Network Solution.) I think Basic Maths is absolutely lovely....but not finding the backend as flexible as I fantasized -- but that may be my fault because I don't know CCS. (How do I delete the search and the tags from the top of the page? (I have taken all the widgets from the page.) How do I make text different sizes? It's a little monotonously one-sized. How do I stretch the Title out onto one line? How do I make the little thumbnails more thunmnaily? Should I be using another theme altogether?)

BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, Did I make a mistake? to get this web site to the registered domain name I have, should I have gone with WorPress.org? I've now set up the basic framework for the web site (about 20 pages) on WP.Com: do I lose all my work now or is there a way to send it to .org?

    THANKS!!!

The blog I need help with is dorothydunnconsulting.wordpress.com.

  2. Have you posted to the premium themes forum? We Volunteers on these support forums don't have access to premium themes and can't help with them as we have never had hands-on experience with them. Read-access to the premium themes forum is now open to all users so you can search to see if your questions have been previously asked and answered there. The premium theme forums are at http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/ with separate sections for each theme. http://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/forum/basic-maths/

If you are not successful when searching there is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum for your theme under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard, but do note that the premium theme must be active and you must be signed in as the user who purchased it in order to see it and post to it.

  3. Hmmm....I can read the premium theme forum, but I can't post to it.

It look to me like the premium theme is active.

(I am also going to rephrase the non-premium part of this post into a new post....but I would still like to know how to post to the premium forum.)

  4. Did you make a mistake? Can't say without knowing your actual goals. Everything you've said here is easily doable on your theme. Staff have said they will help all Custom Design upgrade people with theme customization code, so you'll have to wait till a moderator moves this thread to the appropriate forum and then staff will reply.
