being happy in your life

  1. I want everyones opinion on this what do you yourself consider as a happy life?
To me a happy life consists of no worrying makes a happy mind my step dad told me that.
I also have to say living each day with acceptance and graditude.Making the best with the way things turn out.
Thinking of your glass as half full and not half empty.

The blog I need help with is hopeortiz.wordpress.com.

  2. I agree with everything you've mentioned above. Definitely about seeing the half full glass, as a lot of times we have so much that others don't or wish to have, and we don't realize how fortunate we are. I can't remember where I saw this quote, but it went something like "Success means getting what you want. Happiness is being happy with what you get."

I think happiness also comes from having good relationships with others, like your family, friends, colleagues, and so on. When you get along with people you discover more about yourself; you feel good about who you are and have a happy, healthier self-esteem.

  3. I agree with you 100 percent

Attitude is "Everything" Bad Attitude kills "Joy". While Good Attitude sustains it

  5. Being happy in my opinion is simply understanding the word: Contentment, the thin line between knowing what you want and knowing what you need.

Because if you are satisfied with whatever life has given you, is there really a reason for you to frown? This is a nice thread, hope it gets more posts because it would be nice to see what people consider as a happy life.

  6. I really don't think happiness actually exist, not for me at least. I do believe that there are happy people, but I know I will not be one of them. Too many bad memories and experiences and a weird personality can screw you up for good.
BUT, I quite enjoy this crazy ride. I love to get depressed and start singing by myself. I like how I pawn at work because I don't have relationships to waste my time on.

  7. Happiness for me has been stomping out regrets before they start. Sometimes I might end up making a fool of myself, but in the end I have a funny story to tell and can at least know that I tried.

I also think a lot of it is a mental thing. You need to view your experiences or life in the right way. Two people can experience the same thing and feel two entirely different ways about it - as mentioned above, like a glass half empty versus half full.

  8. I would agree that happiness has a lot to do with contentment.

  9. i like the quote by Michael J. Fox he says I live each day with acceptance and graditude and to make the best with the way things turn out, and that you alone are responsible for your own happiness and its still ok to feel responsible for someone elses.

  10. A life full of the awareness of the truths of ones God, and ones Self.

The only possible route to true Life,
All else is only a veil,

    Thank you,

  11. For me a happy life is one filled with smiles and laughter. A table with dinner on it and a warm body beside me at night.

I believe that happiness is a choice we make between our ears, and despite our circumstances we can make the choice to be happy. I don't think happiness amounts to the the few moments of passing pleasure or joy we receive from external events. I believe that true happiness comes from deep within and is more akin to contentment and being able to celebrate being alive and loved in the now moment. I have made brief lists of the don'ts and do's that result in happiness for me.

    The don'ts
    (1) Don’t seek other people’s approval to determine your own self worth.
    (2) Don’t feel responsible for the happiness or unhappiness of others.
    (3) Don't explain or justify your thoughts and actions to yourself or others.
    (4) Don't think you can change what happened yesterday by reliving it today.
    (5) Don't get caught up in projecting future scenarios and miss what's in the now moment.

Your thoughts create your feelings – Your feelings trigger your emotions – Your emotions activate your behavior. And, your behavior produces the results you have in your life. Take personal responsibility to change your thoughts where applicable and set yourself free to become the best you that you can be.

    The do's
    (1) Do free your heart from hatred and your mind from worries.
    (3) Do live simply and communicate honestly.
    (4) Do expect less, give more, and express gratitude for what you do have and what you receive.
    (5) Do live consciously in the present moment – the now moment.
