being invited as an admin to post on a blog regularly isn't working

    Hi There,
    I have a wp "sfwellnesscollective" with a few colleagues. We each take turns submitting posts. It's my turn and I'm not able to access as an admin only as a follower. Is this because I have an old account with wp under happybellyhealth? The creator of the sfwellnesscollective said she wasn't able to send an invite to my email address- it wasn't accepted. Any ideas what I can do?

    The blog I need help with is sfwellnesscollective.wordpress.com.

  5. Is the old email address associated with your account happybellyhealth still live? The blog administrator could invite you via that username and you could accept the invitation via that specific email.

    Yes it is live. She just tried to invite me and had this response: "Invitation not sent, the user has blocked invite emails." This is odd because I don't have a block request in my user preferences. Any ideas?

  7. Sorry, but I'm out of ideas. Another volunteer may have an answer. I've also modlooked this topic so staff will take a look. You'll need to be patient because there are a lot of tickets ahead of you at this point. If you subscribe, you'll be notified when there is a response.

    Just a stab in the dark, but could it be a setting on your email client? I can block some things on mine, so maybe it's the same for you???

  8. Hi happybellyhealth,

    Can you check to make sure the blog administrator is trying to invite you by going to Users > Invite New on the blog dashboard and using your WordPress.com username happybellyhealth (rather than an email address)? It's possible that the administrator is entering an incorrect email address, but an invitation to your username should go through.

    If they receive the same error when inviting you this way, please let me know and I can look into it further!

    I checked with my team about this issue, and it sounds like you may have blocked invitations at some point in the past. (This is separate from the setting to block subscription notifications.)

    Here are the instructions to unblock invite emails:

    1. At https://subscribe.wordpress.com/ enter the email address used on WordPress.com and click on "Request details."
    2. You will receive an email titled "[Subscribe] Your Subscription Details" containing a link looking like this: https://subscribe.wordpress.com/?key=a111b222&email=wp%wp.com.
    3. Copy that link in your browser address and add &unsub_invites&option=cancel at the end.
    4. You should get a line that looks like https://subscribe.wordpress.com/?key=a111b222&email=wp%wp.com&unsub_invites&option=cancel -- click enter to load it.
    5. A confirmation message will appear: "You will now receive invite emails again at [email redacted]. To stop receiving them, click here."

    Once this is done, you will be able to receive invite emails again.

    I apologize for the inconvenience. I realize that it's currently easy to block invite emails, but not straightforward to undo this action. We are looking into improving this.
