Being redirected to wp.com instead of wp.org

So, I originally created a blog on wp.com and mapped a domain name with third party hosting to that page. When I realized that I'm not able to use plugins on this platform, I deleted the blog. The domain that I mapped is still being directed to the now deleted wp.com blog. I've tried installing wp to my site via Fantastico in my cpanel, but after installation I'm redirected to wp.com not wp.org and not of the log in info. from installation works.

Help!! I've done everything that I can think of to resolve this, I would really appreciate some guidance!

  2. Is this the dleted blog in question? http://ohkira.wordpress.com
What is the domain URL please?

  3. Change the name servers at your registrar to point to your new host.

No, the blog is peachycleandenver.wordpress.com and the domain url is peachycleandenver.com

  5. You are going to need staff help for this: you can't use the dashboard functions of a blog you deleted. One more reason we suggest never deleting things.

  6. http://peachycleandenver.com/ is properly directing elsewhere.

It can take domain changes up to 72 hours (though usually much less) to propagate to your ISP. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.

Ok, any idea why I'm being sent to the wp.com rather than the .org after installation? I thought that if I deleted my wp.com blog, that would resolve the issue, but I'm still being sent to peachycleandenver.wordpress.com

Yes, as mentioned above, it could take some time for the DNS changes to propagate to your ISP, during which you'll still be sent to your WP.com blog. How fast this happens all depends on how often your ISP refreshes their DNS cache.

  12. 1) Please do not hijack threads with completely unrelated issues.

    2) If you do a search of the forum, you will see that Plugins are for WordPress.ORG blogs, and are not available for WordPress.COM.
