   Hi,
   I would like to upload mp3s (of music I hold the copyright to) to my WordPress blog which can then be streamed. I would also like to be able to make people enter their email address before they can download them. I have seen this on other people's web sites, but i'm not sure whether it can be done on WordPress.com. Can anyone tell me whether there are any 3rd party widgets or plugins I can use on WordPress.com or whether there is already some way to do this on the site?

   I don't believe it can be done on WP.com. For one thing, you can't use plugins at all here. There are several audio options here, but none of them will allow you to insist on getting the email of a listener first.

   In my opinion SoundCloud is excellent for hosting your music and you can embed the player here on your blog. For something that requires an email address to download you might want to look towards BandCamp however I don't think you can currently embed the player on your blog. You will have to set up an account and link to your BandCamp page.
