Best way to combine CONTENT from two blogs to one already established blog.

  1. I have two blogs under two different email accounts. I want to move the Posts/content on myprayerfortoday (http://myprayerfortoday.wordpress.com/) to a page I'm creating on my family blog: garner goings on.

I will no longer use the name my prayer for today as a url. I don't know if this is considered transferring ownership or moving my blog. I want all of my writing on one blog instead of two. Does this make sense?

I just want to know 1. the easiest way to move myprayerfortoday content to garnergoingson and 2. if there is a way I can direct all of the myprayerfortoday content to a particular page or category on garnergoingson...

    Thank you for your patience!

    LOVE WORDPRESS!
    Blog url: http://garnergoingson.wordpress.com/

  2. Posts an Pages are not the same. Pages site outside the blog structure and there is no way to automatically change posts into pages. You can export the Posts from one blog and import them as Posts into another blog. But you cannot make them into Pages by any method other than by copying, pasting and republishing them.

  3. 2. if there is a way I can direct all of the myprayerfortoday content to a particular page or category on garnergoingson..

    No there is not.

  4. Thanks! That was quick!

OK. Is there a procedure for exporting posts already explained somewhere in the support topics? Is it just a matter of cutting and pasting from myprayerfortoday blog to "new post" screen on garnergoingson?

    Really appreciate your help

  5. http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/

Log into the one blog, go to Tools → Export, and download the XML (WXR) file to your computer.
In the other blog, go to Tools → Import → WordPress, and upload the file you downloaded in step 1. After you upload the file, you can choose the option to Download & import file attachments if you want to move your media files.

  6. I'm looking at the export section now. Thanks!
