black background on icons

    When I upload a transparent icon (png file), the image shows up on WordPress with a black background. Why?

    The blog I need help with is ismailimail.wordpress.com.

    Are you making sure that the surround of the actual image is transparent, first? (ie, the part that shows as black, should be made transparent by you first, in a graphics program). If not, it will show up in the colour that was there.
