Blank Blogger Import

  1. Hey folks...I've seen a few of these threads, but too late to do it correctly myself.

I just did the auto-import to wordpress from swamppixieherbal.blogspot.com but got blank posts and comments.

I tried following it up with the manual .xml upload, and it pulled over my drafts and such just fine, but the posts and comments are still blank.

Any advice? Or does it need to be cleared out so I can reupload the .xml?

The blog I need help with is swamppixieherbal.wordpress.com.

  2. Please? If I've missed an FAQ or something, please let me know. I'd love to get this rolling.

  4. Hi there,

It looks like there was an issue with the import the first time you tried to import your blog. When you do a second import, our importer tool skips posts that are already in your blog to avoid overwriting posts or creating duplicate content, which is why the manual import didn't fix the blank posts.

To start over, we can empty your blog and you can try the import again. Emptying the blog will permanently erase all content that is currently in your blog. If you're ok with that, please let me know and I can do that for you. Once your blog is empty, you can try importing the content from your old blog again.

If you have any questions about this, please let me know!

  5. That sounds great, thank you Rachelmcr! Once you confirm, I'll do the manual import and hope that does the trick. I'm looking forward to starting with WordPress. :)

  6. Ok! I emptied your blog, so you're all set to try the import again. I do recommend doing the manual import, given that the auto-import didn't work the first time. If you run into any problems, please let me know! :)

  7. It worked! Thanks, Rachelmcr!

  8. You're welcome. :) Happy blogging!
