Blavatar change not picked up.

  1. Can't change blavatar on blog. New picture not showing in Blavatar, but shows in Favicon.

The blog I need help with is photophaff.wordpress.com.

  2. How long has it been since you uploaded the blavatar? It can take a few hours for the WordPress cache to update. If it has been a while, try clearing your browser's cache to see if that resolves it.

  3. It's my experience that it can take days not just hours to appear. Do not keep uploading as that simply delays when it will display.

  4. Thanks, guys. It's been days since I made the change, and still it hasn't shown up. Oddly, the icon associated with my homepage is the correct one, but he icon assicated with my blog page is the old one. I don't understand why they are different. Ideas?

  5. I see your blavatar. It's a tiny version of your gravatar.

  6. but he icon assicated with my blog page is the old one

Do you mean the My Blogs page that only you can view?

  7. Not quite. If I share the link to my blog page (http://photophaff.wordpress.com/blog/) for example on Facebook, the icon that shows up is the old one.

  8. Ahh ... Facebook ... wish you had said that from the outset.

See here for what Staff has to say please:

Unfortunately, we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include. http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/avalaible-facebook-thumbnail-issue?replies=7#post-1000734

Sometimes this will help but not always

  9. Thanks. I put the link in the box, and it does indeed come up with my old blavatar. I am at a loss as to where it is getting that image from, however, as the image link that it quotes is to my gravatar (which is the same as the blavatar, essentially).

  10. The image appears to be in Faceplant's image cache.

  11. Hmmm. Have cleared IE9's cache, followed instructions above (Facebook debug), and still no joy. The fault is definitely at the Facebook end, as the correct image is now showing in other places.

  12. It's always at the Facebook end of things and to tell you the truth we Volunteers are very tired of answering this question -- no offence intended.

  13. No worries. Appreciate your help putting me on the right track. Will see if I can resolve it from the Facebook end.

  14. Best of luck with that and I do mean that sincerely.
