Hi, I wanted to change my blog address to 'intothemysic.wordpress.com. The sight told me it was already taken. I decided to check it out so I typed it in and there's only one post there; the welcome post that wordpress publishes when you first start a blog, and its from march 2007!! Clearly no one is using this blog, never has and never will. Is there a way I can get that address for my blog? Thanks,

Blogs belong to those who create them and there is no requirement that one must use a blog they register. Staff will not snatch back an unused blog and gift to someone else. If the blogger who owns the blog has contact information or open comments then please contact them. If they agree to give you the blog this process can be used to transfer it http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account Otherwise, you are out of luck and will have to register another blog on a .wordpress.com sub-domain URL.
That being said, bloggers who are commited to blogging over the long term don't blog on sub-domains. They purchase a domain name via a domain mapping upgrade and you can do that too. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
