Blog appearance - widgets, posts

  1. The blog is not displaying properly, and a date for one of the blog posts has replaced the side widget bar, and has also prevented the rest of the blog posts from being connected to the site (the "see more posts" section). Any suggestions? Thanks!

  2. Usually these kinds of oddities are caused by an open tag in one of your posts. Sometimes it is caused by copying and pasting another source.

Here's a great guide to troubleshooting and correcting the problem:

  3. Wow, that guide was really helpful, thanks so much! Problem seems to be fixed now - there were some stray div tags. Cheers!

  4. That site is filled with great information and the person that writes it often provides support on these forums.

  5. Sidebars do not fall to the bottom and display below posts unless
    (1) content has been imported into the blog,
    (2) the blogger has been copying and pasting content from elsewhere, without using either icon 5 or icon 6 in Row 2 of the visual editor http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-text
    (3) or the blogger has copied and pasted invalid HTML into a text widget or left an HTML tag open

  6. Thanks very much for your suggestions. I believe an HTML tag was left open, so the sidebars seemed to correct themselves after I removed them according to the steps described in the guide. I'm new to WordPress, and greatly appreciate all of the help!
