Blog is no longer linked to username

    I created a new blog today and then immediately after submitting my first post I decided to change my username and wordpress URL. I went to account settings and everything seemed fairly straightforward and easy to request the change.

    I can now log in using the new username I requested, and if I type in the new URL I can see my blog, but under the dashboard of my new username, there are no blogs registered to my name.

    How do I access it?? Did it only change the name and not the login info somehow??

    The blog I need help with is 2ndhalfhope.wordpress.com.

    A year of so ago, I set up a blog that I never used, and don't plan to. I can't get to the dashboard to deactivate, however, when I try to log into the admin page for the blog I am using on a regular basis--named something totally different, I can't log in with my new user name and password. It demands I log in under the blog that has never been used. I'm stuck. Any suggestions?

    Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.

    Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

    See? The sophiaseekers is the one I'm trying to get rid of--but here it shows this post under that username.

    Thanks, time thief. I don't have a dashboard that gives me these options on the old blog.
    I've tried that. Can't get to account details, etc.

    When I click on the link beside my photo above, it says site deleted by owner.

    When we register a username and provide an email address it becomes our unique identifier. http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/ When we are logged in under that username then every blog we create is registered to that username. To here for the process required to transfer blogs from one username to another.

    If so then can you see the blog in the "Blogs" drop-down menu from the gray horizontals navigation bar?

    If it's not there and you have followed all the required steps hen you will need Staff help.

    Thanks, Lots of help. I think maybe I got it--by following your steps. Marvelous. Been struggling with it for three days!

    Please email Staff and include all your details including the username and email address you used when you registered the blog in question which became your unique identifier support@wordpress.com

    Wow! That's good news as it means you will not have to email Staff. :)
