Blog not showing up under any of the topics sections--censored?

  1. Why is my post (and only my post) not showing up in any of the topic sections? I've noticed that other people's posts who posted before and after me are posting just fine. I didn't realize that my post was so deep that there was a need to hide it from view.

The blog I need help with is synapticcohesion.wordpress.com.

  2. Please read this entry > global tags > missing posts

  3. Also note that there are multiple threads with regard to posts not showing up in the Reader and Staff are working on that area.

  4. That doesn't help at all. You guys post racist and offensive posts about Mexicans (which I brought to your attention months ago), yet my post with a with no offensive language is censored--see "The Atheist Paradox" for yourself.

  5. Nope. Other posts under atheism are continuing to post just fine. That is why I never take post that get "Freshly Pressed" or get any recognition or views seriously. If you have to get there by censoring others that are not connected in to you and your affiliates, then that is very pitiful.

  6. What do your mean by "you guys". I am a Boluteer doing the best job I can to answer support questions on this peer support forum. If yopu think you have issues you would like to take up with Staff, after you read the threads wherein others are having issues with their posts appearing in the Reader and on the Topics pages, then I'll be happy to flag this thread for their attention.

  7. edit: "Boluteer " was meant to be "Volunteer". Sorry I didn't spellcheck before clicking "submit".

  8. I already checked out the other forum post. No one has the same "problem" of getting their post to show up on any of the topics sections. Yes, I would like this to be brought to someone's attention (which is why I am here). But I have a feeling that it won't post until it is buried under a bunch of new posts--if at all.

  9. timethief's link (http://en.support.wordpress.com/global-tags/ ) was a good one. If you read through the reasons why your post may not show up, you'd notice the following:

If you have published a new post and it isn’t showing up in the global tag listings for the tag and categories that you’ve used, there are several possible explanations:

    1. You are using too many categories or tags. You don’t want irrelevant content showing up in the tag surfer or search, and neither do we. That’s why we limit the number of tags that can be used on a public tag listing. Five to 10 tags (or categories, or a combination of the two) is a good number to add to each of your posts. The more tags you use, the less likely it is that your post will be selected for inclusion in the global tag listings.

Looking at your last couple of posts, you have well over a dozen tags for each. I'd recommend you try using fewer tags and see if that changes your results.

  10. I just reduced more than half of my tags--even though I had used twice as many tags before without a problem. Nothing has changed--my post are still invisible.

  11. All posts displayed on the global tags pages are displayed in order of their original datestamp. Also note that under the most popular tags the post display is randomized simply beause there are so many posts being published every minute of the day.

  12. Give the tags pages a bit of time to update and see it they don't show up. There are 30 million sites here and 2.5 million to 7 million posts per day on average (lately much closer to 6 or 7) and each of those posts could have from 1 to 10 tags on it. That is quite a bit of shuffling around.

  13. One other suggestion is to wait till you make you next post and use 10 tags or less and see what happens.

  14. @thesacredpath
    The post is displaying.

  15. Yes it is showing up for now; thank you. I don't know if I can ask it on this thread but I also had a question on my post prior to that one. I checked the sharing option, but as you can see there are no sharing buttons for my April 29 post.

16. That is a reblogged post, and I had never bothered to check, but it could be that reblogged posts do not have the sharing options active.

  17. It's post you reblogged and this is the block of tags:

Written by synapticcohesion Posted in Uncategorized Tagged with ancient, atheism, atheist, belief, Christian, Christianity, creation, education, educational, Egypt, evolution, faith, God, humanism, humanist, news, pagan, political, politics, religion, religious, secular, spirituality, WordPress

Presumably you do want any readers viewing the reblogged post on your blog to click inot and promote the original post, don't you?

  18. @thesacredpath
The post I referred to as "original" actually has only an opening paragraph of original content. The rest of it all 1090 words is a direct quote from a book.

  19. Yes, I do. I just noticed that someone who reblogged one of my posts still had those sharing buttons on his page. As with other reblogged posts, which I'm sure would potentially bring more views to the original post.

  20. @synapticcohesion
Have you tried editing the post, removing the excess tags, checking to see that sharing buttons are enabled on the post, and then clicking update? http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/#troubleshooting That's what I would do.

  21. @thesacredpath

... it could be that reblogged posts do not have the sharing options active.

If that's the case I will be blogging that good news.

  22. I will try it. But even if if it is no longer an option, that is not a problem.

  23. Glad to help.

  24. Seeing as the original question has been resolved, I'm going to close this thread. @synapticcohesion, if you have new questions, feel free to start another thread.
