Blog Ownership Transfer needed

    The moderator of the German forum, zodiak1978, has recommended me to contact you directly:

    I am asking you to transfer the following blog to me:

    rabani.wordpress.com

    When you transfer the blog ownership to me, then you can enter my email address I have given here in this forum during registration.

    The blog name is my family name.
    I recommend WordPress to many people and I work as a tutor for them.
    It is very disturbing that an unknown person registered the blog with my name and put a hate sentence in the header of the blog.
    The blog was registered 5.5 years ago and it has never been used in any way as it can be seen at one glance.

    People who are recommended to wordpress.com by me type my family name on .wordpress.com because they want to check my .wordpress.com website. My reputation gets destroyed when they read such a sentence.

    Please, don't delete the blog, but just transfer the ownership to me so that I can blog on that address.
    Take into consideration that the blog has never been used for 5,5 years and this is a special case because the blog contains my family name and I want to start my personal blog on that address.

    Please, read my original posting, then you know why I need to have the ownership of the blog

    It is not possible to contact the owner of the blog as the person is unknown and he never made use of the blog which is no wonder as the person's intention was just to put a hate sentence in the header of the blog using my name as blog address.

    If somebody else owns it, you can't have it no matter what.

    Even if you were to convince WordPress to delete it under some violation, you still could not gain ownership.

    The blog has only content in the header and that content is a violation against WP's TOS.

    The reasons I have given for transfer of ownership are understandable and valid.

    But even if the blog ownership doesn't get transfered to me, then WP should delete the 5.5 year old empty blog. The header content destroys my reputation because the blog's name carries my name!

    There is no expiration date on blogs unused or otherwise. No one is required to post to a blog they register and Staff don't snatch back blogs here. If you can make contact on your own with the owner of an unused blog then there is a means of a consenting blog owner to transfer the blog to another username account. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account In the case that there is no contact information Staff will not breach the privacy policy and provide you with an email address.

    The blog has only content in the header and that content is a violation against WP's TOS.

    Then go to the front of the blog and click "report as spam" in the dropdown. Then the ToS Ataff will examine the blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/report-blogs/

    You can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

    Or you can register a domain vis a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

    Then please delete the empty blog, its is blatantly obvious that it is SPAM and meant to spread hate.

    Also delete this thread, or at least the blog's address as it contains my name.

    Support forum posts are forever - the staff leaves them up so others might learn from what was posted here

    Also ranting against a blog here will not have any effect on the blog you don't like - you have been told how to deal with your alleged problem -

    You call that a blog? It is SPAM! It's content consist of one sentence, the sentence is in the header and for 5.5 years no further content has been added. This SPAM site has my name in the address and therefore my reputation gets destroyed. I recommend WP to all people, I work for them as a tutor. The SPAM site violates WP's TOS. I bet you didn't take one look on the SPAM site or you didn't try to use an online translator to understand the single sentence in the header.

    It's you who is claiming the blog is a spam blog. I provided the instructions for you to report it to Staff. Stop expecting us Volunteers to take on your responsibility and act on the instructions I gave you.

    And it's a pretty safe bet that no one knew anything about it until you brought it up, let alone associated it with you personally.

    @ timethief: Why do you pretend that I wouldn't have followed your instructions? I did, but as a moderator can easily delete a SPAM blog and the request can be made here in this forum publicy, I have come up with that request.

    @ notawoodpecker: I have to grasp for oxygen when I read your question...
    In this thread you could read and you could also know it if you would have taken one single look at the SPAM bloh that the only content, the single hate sentence in the blog header, is in a language of my country and yes, I might be the only one with that name in this country, at least the only one with that name who is known to work with WordPress.

    Again: There is a blog with just one single sentence, the sentence is in the header of the blog, the blog is over 5.5 years old, the sentence destroys my reputation because the name of the blog carries my name and the sentence is full of hate. Is it that difficult to press on the delete button? I am 100% sure that the owner of that blog had the only intention to do online vandalism the same like sprayers do when they spray on house walls. Take a look at that SPAM site and you won't come up with any other decision than to delete that blog.

    What I saw was not Spam.

    Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited bulk messages, especially advertising, indiscriminately.

    Please note that while I'm designated as a moderator, I am a fellow blogger just like you are. As such I do not have any more authority than you do in determining issues related to WordPress.com official policies.

    Do you realize that this is (for the most part) a peer to peer support forum?

    I have to assume that you guys cannot understand what you read from me...
    Again so that you understand (hopefully), I have followed the instructions given by timethief.
    BUT I did not get any answer from WP, my email account works correctly, so it is not likely that an email from WP could have gotten lost.

    timethief was smart, she may have registered her own family name for a blog on WP and then deleted it. But imagine if she would live in a small country and she is known to work with WP and someone else registers her family name for a WP blog and writes a hate sentence in the blog header and the blog would have no other content for many years, it would not have been used for almost six years. Is it far fetched to ask WP for deletion of that SPAM blog? Yes, it is spam if someone registers a blog with a person's name, put a hate sentence in the header of the blog and doesn't add any content. Such a site cannot be regarded as a blog anymore, but as a SPAM. Or do you call a wall sprayed with grafiti hate sentence as art and would you regard it as legitimate?

    If you want to be smart and use another word for Spam, then feel free to do that, BUT it doesn't change anything in the matter, do you get it??!
    I am not interested in a definition battle of a word. I bring forward a case that should be very impoirtant to WP. I like WP, that's why I recommend WP to all people. So this thread should be regarded as a very valuable hint to take action against all such Spam site (you call it 'blog' just because it runs on WP...).
    What do you thing if many people register a WP blog with a person's name and writes a hate sentence in the header and adds no further content for almost six years? Don't you think it is against WP's TOS? Or do you think that if only a few percent of all members do that, it would be okay?

    Would you call graffiti on the back wall of an abandoned building Spam?

    Would you call attention to it after six years of no one noticing?

    How do you know this is directed at you?

    How do you know that whoever posted it so long ago even knew you existed then?

    You've been advised of site policy. WP is not obligated to act on your request. You are free to get a lawyer and seek a court order for removal.

    The only way to transfer ownership of a blog is with permission of the owner.

    If the blog in question is spam and/or is doing something against the TOS, then the original poster needs to report it as such. The blog will not be transferred if it is determined to be in violation of TOS: it will be suspended and not viewable by the public.

    The original poster can register a blog with a similar name.

    The original poster can register a domain name and use domain mapping.

    Further discussion about definitions of spam are irrelevant to the options available to the original poster.

    Therefore I will close this thread.
