Blog Picture/Icon

  1. I am trying to upload a logo I designed for my blog, on the Blog Picture/Icon portion of the General Settings section.

However, I am apparently restricted to the size of the icon, and it is making me crop the image. But, I don't WANT to crop the image. Additionally, no matter what size image I choose, I still have to crop it and it will not allow me to select the portion that I want to display in its entirety.

Is this some sort of sick restriction that wordpress is making as some sort of joke? Is there a way around this or am I just out of luck? I would be very upset to learn that this platform is that inflexible.

The blog I need help with is musionology.wordpress.com.

  2. Do the cookie dance: Log out, clear your browser cache and cookies, and restart the computer. Usually you can do it then.

If you want high image quality then optimize and presize the image offline. Once it's exactly the size you need upload it and do not use the cropper.
