Blog slow, comments not in date/time order/

  1. Several admins are saying there are problems. The blog for adding comments is slow, and when clicking submit there is nothing happening. The comment is not registering.

The comments are not ending up in date/time order. Comments from today are posting ahead of comments from yesterday.

The blog I need help with is wtpotus.wordpress.com.

  2. This is the link. Can you eliminate the link above please. I don't know if that will give others a way into my blog.

  3. The link is not going to give others a way into your blog - not to worry. Please check this pages to be sure that you have entered the correct time zone for the area you live in > Settings > Page
Timezone Choose a city in the same timezone as you.
    Then click "Save Changes"

The order which your comments appear in is set on this page Settings > Discussion > Other comment settings
Comments should be displayed with the [older / newer] comments at the top of each page.

Make the change to have older comments appear at the top and then scroll down and click "Save Changes".

so please check to be sure all the setting are correct on that page as well.

  4. The time zone and settings are not the problem. Please visit the link and you will see that the comments from the 17th are appearing after the 18th.

I just now added comments to see if it is continuing to put comments in the wrong order and it is still happening.

  5. That is because those comments are direct replies to another comment - threaded commenting. With the theme you are using, anytime you see the vertical line beside a comment, it is a direct reply to another comment.

  6. Thanks for looking. I understand threaded comments. The following are not threaded. My newest test comment "May 18, 1:52" appears above the ones from the day before. It is not a reply. Look at all of the comments on May 18th...they are all above the last two dated on the 17th. The last two seem to be sticking in place.

Testing comments today not properly ending up at the end of the comments section. It is still happening. Comments aren’t appearing either. Sending information to support for help. All is slow.
