Blog Suspended !

  1. Hi,
I noticed few minutes back that one of my blog( http://uklilandinvestment.wordpress.com) has been suspended. Sir may I know , what are steps through which I can reactivate my blog. If there is some solution , please suggest me ASAP .

please reply back at the earliest ...

    Regards

  2. I'd like to know how long it was since their notificATION to the blog suspension. Because of my subjects, I'm always on the cusp of legal blogibility, and would like to know what the timeline is, when they're thinking about deleting a blog.

Note: I don't mean any disrespect to WordPress or anyone else, but my recent experiences have been such that I'm alarmed for my freedom of speech.

  3. UKLI - read this:

    http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/06/01/my-blog-has-been-suspended/

I suspect this paragraph in the TOS may be your problem:

    the Content is not spam, and does not contain unethical or unwanted commercial content designed to drive traffic to third party sites or boost the search engine rankings of third party sites, or to further unlawful acts (such as phishing) or mislead recipients as to the source of the material (such as spoofing);

Raincoaster - you might fly a little close to the wind sometimes, but having read a few posts I can't see why you should have a problem.

    Collin

  4. raincoaster: I don't think they're in the habit of issuing advance warnings before deleting blogs. If they don't like it, it's gone. Unless you're a spammer, though, you should be OK.

  5. Well, I did get some comments posted once, when there was a copyright dispute. Because I have an email alert for comments, I was able to see things and straighten them out. It would have been a shame to lose the entire blog over what, in that particular instance, was a mistake. It worked out for the best for both me and the copyright owners, who've gotten a few hundred hits through the link I posted by now.

  6. And killed him too.. he created lots of land investment sites linking either to his commercial site or to a tripod/other free site that linked to the commercial site. Spammer.

  7. I'm not getting you. When I posted a YouTube that was an unauthorized copy of copyrighted material, I was warned by comments on my site and I took it down and linked to the Revver site of the copyright owner. Are you confusing the Revver advertising posts with the Mentos and Diet Coke guys' post?

As far as I know, the Mentos guys are not spammers in the least.

  8. raincoaster - don't worry about your blog, unless you suddenly start spamming or put adverts on your site or we receive a DMCA complaint you're safe!
Read section 5 of the TOS about copyright - http://wordpress.com/tos/

  9. The Mentos folks made a big deal about not having their video posted on YouTube and Google. That's why they were on the lookout for folks who were doing so.

  10. Well it seems I have been reported as "adult" anyway. At least, none of my unique tags are showing up in a WordPress-wide search, and I don't pop up on the "Latest posts" list. And I wasn't told about this, I just found out. I have sent in a feedback to ask what's going on, but do they really not even notify you? This was not appropriate, IMHO, and I don't even know how long it's been going on.

  11. I'm showing you as of the 19th as not being marked and I'm seeing you in the tag system.

I think you're using some very common tags that are rolling by very fast.

  12. No, it turned out I had gotten "Porned" by someone. No idea when that happened, but as fo three days ago it wasn't the case. One of the tags I tested was "Shebeen Club" which as far as I know is unique to my blog: No results at all. That's how I figured it out.

Anyway, Support took a look at my blog and "un-porned" me immediately, all hail Support dudes and dudesses! It's a bit annoying that I still don't know exactly what the misconception was, and annoying that "porning" happens without someone actually checking up on the report, but at least the "un-porning" happened very quickly. Can't say enough good things about that!

  13. annoying that "porning" happens without someone actually checking up on the report

That is quite worrying; we've been assured in the past that every 'mature' flag gets followed up because of the potential for abuse. I know that Podz was on holiday recently, though, so maybe there was nobody around to check your blog out at the time it was reported.

  14. It was certainly un-porned quickly enough once it came to their attention. I think what may have happened (totally speculating here) is that someone misinterpreted one of my posts as a literal "Marketing tips for hookers" instead of the humour post that it actually was. But like I said, speculating here. Coulda been anything.

  15. Well that didn't take long. I've been re-porned.

Someone searched 8 pages of WordPress "Porn" tags until they found posts I'd made including that tag. Such as "Aeroporn" which is photos of airplanes. Someone's being a bit obsessive, and I defy anyone reading my blog to say it's not PG-13. Will have to keep beating this badk. Annoying; I'm supposed to be sleeping now.

  16. Sorry, 11 pages of WordPress Porn tags. My referrers today look like:

    Referrer Views
    wordpress.com/tag/porn/8 11
    wordpress.com/tag/porn 11
    boris-johnson.com/archives/2006/08/_c… 11
    wordpress.com/tag/porn/7 8
    wordpress.com/tag/sex 8
    colddesert.blogspot.com 5
    wordpress.com/tag/porn/3 4
    topix.net/who/cloris-leachman 4
    google.com/ig?hl=en 4
    wordpress.com/tag/porn/6 3

  17. Okay, you can ignore me now. All seems to be resolved.
