Blog this or similar tool for WordPress, and any tips for importing ?

  1. I'm new here at WordPress but not really in blogging, I've been using Blogger for over a year then went on to using my own host and used B2evolution for a quite a while now, well there's always good and bad with any software opensource or not but lets just say stay away from B2 unless you have LOTS of time and patience, and really like to fight spammers. So anyway I'm back to or was back to my blogger acct mostly for ease of use and one of the reasons is the "Blog This" button you can use for doing quick posts, you can use it within IE via the google search bar or within Firefox or you can just DL a seperate button for quick posts while on another site. I really like alot of the options that wordpress has to offer, and if I can get some more things figured out and play with it a bit more, I'd really like to import everything from my B2evo site and my Blogger site onto here, so far after just a couple of hours tinkering it seems to be a bit of the best of both worlds between the two. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There are three good and free BlogThis! options:

    1. If you go to Write under your Dashboard, there's a link that says "Press It - Your Blog Name." Drag and drop this link onto your bookmarks toolbar, it has the same functionality as BlogThis.

    2. If you use Firefox, install the performancing extension for Firefox, which allows you to write, edit and manage blog posts from within your browser.

    3. If you use Firefox, or you know what SeaMonkey or XULRunner are, you can install Deepest Sender, another blogging extension.

P.S., I think this would be a good thing to add to the FAQ.

  4. Made mention in the FAQ thread. :)

  5. Thank you very much, that's exactly what I was looking for and it works great. Thanks again.

  6. 1. If you go to Write under your Dashboard, there's a link that says "Press It - Your Blog Name." Drag and drop this link onto your bookmarks toolbar, it has the same functionality as BlogThis.

You can do this with Blogger but don't appear to be able to do this (drag and drop or paste to toolbar) with PressThis in Firefox on a Mac?? Any suggestions please?

  7. Rather than dragging and dropping, right click and save as a bookmark.

  8. Thanks for this. It wasn't clear that you then had to use your bookmark file to post a new link - this is obviously much more difficult than using the 'BlogThis' option on the toolbar (Firefox) with Blogger. Now I'm trying to find out how to import/export links to/from the blogroll.
