Blog won't post to Facebook

    I have tried importing my blog to my Facebook Business page several times and I keep getting an error that reads "Import Failed We couldn't find a feed using the URL you provided." I read that my blog must be public for the import to work and it is public, yet I keep getting the same error message.

    Any ideas about what I am doing wrong?

    The blog I need help with is offtrailtravel.wordpress.com.

    I am having the same problem as well. I don't see my blog feed on my facebook business page. Please help!!!

    What theme are you all using? I'm using Ocean Mist and it's not working - just wondering if it's a specific theme that is having problems. I validated the feed on Facebook and it said it was a good feed. I have submitted this problem to Facebook but no response yet.

    We're using the the theme 'twenty ten' and have the same problem, message from facebook on trying to import in the notes section:

    Import Failed
    We couldn't find a feed using the URL you provided.

    Just submitted the bug to facebook. Seems to be the 'Top Question' today in facebook's known bugs section:

    'My notes won’t import.'

    Don't use Notes. It's crap. Use the WordPress app OR use Networked Blogs. I use the latter and it generally works well (not perfectly; it imports two of my blogs, but not the third for some reason. I think the problem is with the feed on that one.).

    This isn't a recent bug. I've been having this problem since May. I've submitted countless reports and have witnessed no change and have received nothing but an automated response. It's been months. I know that they can't write back to everyone who submits a feed, but if you still haven't fixed a bug nearly 6 months later, you should say something.

    @Offtrailtravel - it isn't theme related.

    @robaught - it is always the "Top Question". It doesn't change.

    @raincoaster - Notes isn't necessarily crap - it just depends on why you're wanting to get your blog on your page. If you are looking to get more traffic to your blog's actual address, then absolutely send readers through a separate app. If you just want friends on facebook to have access to read your blog and leave comments without having a wordpress account or having to leave the page, then importing to notes is a GREAT option. That's what I use it for - I have certain people who read on my blog page and others who prefer to read on facebook.

    I'm really wondering if it's a wordpress goof and would love it if someone could help me figure it out...

    I'll piggyback on to this thread with a question that seems to be more of a Facebook problem than a WordPress.com issue. Apologies if I'm beating a dead horse or straying too far from a WordPress topic, but I haven't seen this integration question in my WordPress searches and Facebook does not address it.

    My setup is typical: I have a personal Facebook page in my name. Linked to that is a Facebook "consumer product" page for my book, "The Military Guide to Financial Independence and Retirement". When I publish a post on my WordPress.com blog, http://the-military-guide.com, I'd like the blog's Facebook update to go to the book's page and not just my personal page. In other words I'd rather have it show up on the "consumer product" page as well as on my personal newsfeed.

    It seems that I can only update the "consumer product" page manually. Frankly the only function the book's Facebook page seems to offer is to link to the blog. There must be more things to do with that.

    So is there a way to automatically update the Facebook "consumer product" page? Maybe some little-known theme or widget? Or am I condemned to manually update the book's Facebook page for as long as it exists?

    Anything else I should be doing with Facebook that I'm not already doing with the blog? Thanks.

    Notes doesn't work; that's why I say it's crap. Notes fails to function on a consistent basis. Networked Blogs does not fail. That's why I use it.

    I watched a test tweet go from Twitter to my Facebook page (and my news feed) yet not to my wall. Very nice.

    I left the WordPress-->Facebook publicize feature box checked as well. I'll get two posts in my Facebook news feed, one from WordPress (a tweet including the blog's post excerpt) and the other from Twitter (just the tweet). That'll give my Facebook friends twice as many links to click, so that doesn't seem to be a bad thing. Best of all, the book's FB page will show all the tweets to the blog posts.
