I typed a blogpost and then proceeded to enter the title. I hit the Submit button and it said that my blogpost was submitted, but now it is not showing up on my dashboard or blog. Is there anyway to retrieve this post?

Possibly, but there is an ongoing bug that some people are running into. If you created the post using the New Post button on the Admin bar, it could well be irretrievable. To avoid this, always create your posts from the Dashboard Posts page.
Is it visible on your Dashboard Posts page? Possibly set as a Draft? Did your subscribers get it?
No, the post has completely disappeared.

As raincoaster has said, we are running into an issue with some users experiencing vanishing posts. Can I ask you a few additional questions?
Where were you composing the post? From the "new post" link in the grey admin bar (near your name)? From under the "W" logo in the upper right? From your Edit Post page? From Newdash (the page that has links across the top for Stats, Reader, New Post, Notifications, etc.)?
About how long were you working on the post?
When did you work on this post (Day and time - approx)?
What browser version were you using?
Did you navigate away from the post while you were composing at all?
Thank you for any information you can provide - it will help us chase this issue down.
As raincoaster says, the best way to post for now is from your Dashboard > Posts > New Post page (edit post page).

You may be able to recover an earlier post revision. Go to Posts > All Posts, hover over the title of the post, click Edit and check the Post Revisions module for previous saved versions of the post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/
If you're not seeing the Revisions module while on the editor screen, click Screen Options (top right corner of your Admin page) http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ to activate it. Then select the post and page modules to include them. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules Then you ought to be able to go here > Dashboard > All Posts > Posts and locate the post and recover it from post revisions.
If you cannot locate the post for locating and restoring a post revision, and it's not in your Trash folder http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/ then you will not be able to recover it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/trash/#restoring-from-trash
Did you create your post on the dashboard of your own blog?
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
Or did you create your post on the front page of WordPress.com?

My post is not showing up in the Reader under the tags I put on it. Plus - the photos appear at the top of the post instead at each article where they apply - please go back to the old program, I NEVER had a problem there. Help!?

It sounds like you're running an out-of-date version of Firefox; if you upgrade to the latest version, these issues should resolve.

I updated to Firefox 17 - as you said - nothing is different.
I do NOT have the new post area on my dashboard any more also, I have to go to "New Post".
The pictures are still all going to the top of the page.
