Blogs appearing in chronological order

  1. I am trying to figure out how I can get ALL of my posts to appear in chronological order. Right now..the last 50 posts are in order, but then the organization of the blog clumps things by category, I think. I just want a simple, chronological order for all my posts from the beginning to today. Does anyone know how to do this? I just want my readers to be able to scroll from latest to earliest blogs.

Thank you for any advice or tips.

The blog I need help with is jimharrisblog.wordpress.com.

  2. All, or most of your posts are set as "sticky" posts. The sticky post function is only meant for a post or two, not for all posts. Setting all posts as sticky overrides the number of posts per page setting at settings > reading and will actually force all of your posts onto the main page, even if you have ten thousand of them. Right now your site takes forever to load.

Blogs in general organize posts in reverse chronological order (newest at top). You need to use the bulk edit feature on the post listing page and "unstick" all your posts. Having them all as stickies will eventually cause your site to crash entirely and at that point all of your posts will not be accessible.

There is no way to sort your posts chronologically (oldest at top) here at wordpress.COM.

  3. Okay...I started using the "sticky" feature because when I posted without it...it wouldn't load it to the most recent place on my blog. I will go and unstick them. Thank you.

  4. Thank you...That worked. I really appreciate that you took the time to give me some help.

  5. You are welcome.
