Bold News: Featured Post Slider and editor toolbar button not working?

  1. I'm admittedly a bit of a novice at this but somebody PLEASE help me out here!
I've been trying to pull tagged posts into the slider with no success for what seems like forever and I've also had no joy in finding out how to get the Woo button into WP's editor wysiwyg toolbar. And one more thing, the 'view theme documentation' link at the top of the Theme Options panel...is it supposed to be a dead link or have I not paid enough for the subscription!!?

    /Ben

The blog I need help with is newsciencetest.wordpress.com.

  2. Hi. In order to assist you, we need the URL of your blog, starting with http:// please. Thanks.

  3. This is the documentation link http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/bold-news/ but there are no instructions for the slider there. There's nothing useful on slider on the demo site either. http://boldnewsdemo.wordpress.com/
Lately it seems that all posts in sliders and carousels need to be sticky posts. Have you tried that?

I'm sorr but your theme is a premium theme and we Volunteers answering questions on this forum have no knowledge of how they are designed to operate. Posting to this forum is not likely to be productive. When you purchased your premium theme what came with that purchase was support directly from the theme designer. Please click this link and post to that forum for theme support. Premium Themes Forum.

  4. Sorry for the Premium 'bust out'- finding it really hard to sort this out anywhere else!

Here's the URL - it's currently (supposed to be a dummy site until I can present the concept to my client, so some pages should not be visible. Will I need to make it public?

Thanks for offering to look into this everybody!

  5. Hi again, FYI I have retagged my 5 demo posts, made them all sticky and followed every bit of advice I could find. I now get the round left & right buttons either side of the slider screen, but still no content!

Others seem to be having issues with this theme. Is it a dud and should I demand a refund or should I persist and hope that I am just a dummy? (I already know the answer to this one;-)

  6. Your blog is private. As we are users just like you, we have no way of seeing it.

Plus, if your blog is using Bold News, we recommend that you use the Premium Themes forum (as timethief suggested).

  7. Hi Ben,

    Thanks for your query. :)

Please see the explanation I've provided here ( http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/bold-news-theme-slider-not-working?replies=7#post-729201 ) on how to setup the featured slider.

For more information, please see the theme documentation here: http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/bold-news-documentation?replies=1

    Thanks and regards,
    Matty.

  8. Took several hours but I found a solution for me:

    Appearance...Theme Options...Slider...Slider Entries

    Max out to 19.

  9. that still doesnt work for me. is there something special with the tags??? even when i do it it comes up saying no articles with that tag

  10. @camcallsthegame: Could you be more specific? Which tags pose a problem? This one doesn't:
