Bought .com and .wordpress.com not directing to it

Hi guys,
A couple days ago I created my blog phollowingmyheart.wordpress.com. Just today, I purchased phollowingmyheart.com through WordPress (I did the $99/year package deal), so visiting phollowingmyheart.wordpress.com is supposed to redirect one to phollowingmyheart.com. However, the opposite is true: phollowingmyheart.com is directing to phollowingmyheart.wordpress.com! When I go to manage my blogs, my .com is not even showing up anymore (it was at first). Not quite sure what is going on here but I’m pretty frustrated and hate that there is no contact number to just speak with a WordPress employee :(

Means you are still inside the 24 to72 hour window it takes changes to migrate to the far corners of the internet. Did you do the mapping changes including the last step to change phollowingmyheart.com to primary domain? If so then Patience Grasshopper.

Well it’s now been almost 96 hours since my original post and still nothing :( Unless 72 hours means 72 BUSINESS hours, but for some reason I doubt that.. I’m just not the tech-iest of people, but I really want to get this started and when I can’t find answers by Googling something or speaking with a real person it gets very discouraging!

Did you follow through all the instruction including the critical one of updating the primary domain?

5. To activate your new domain, select the button next to the one you wish to activate and click Update Primary Domain. Your blog will be accessible from both of these domains; the Primary Domain is what actually appears as your domain within the address bar of web browsers. If you do not see your blog at the new domain immediately, please allow some time for the DNS changes to propagate.http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/#instructions-for-registering-a-new-domain-for-your-blog

Absolutely. The weird thing is, it’s not even showing up in Manage My Blogs anymore; the only one on the list is my .wordpress.com blog. But immediately after setting up the .com, it was listed there and it’s like it vanished into thin air not too long after that. Four days later it has yet to reappear which was exactly what I was worried about when I first started this thread..

Manage my domains will not show the correct screen – the domain name you purchased should not show there

Try Dashboard >> Store >> Domain – to see the mapped domains and update primary domains.
