box.net widget problems

  1. The newest version of the box.net functions generally better than before, but I'm having an issue with how the widget displays things. I would like the default view to be a list sorted by upload date, but every time I refresh the page it reverts back to icons with the oldest stuff on top. I have tried to alter the code in the widget by using the actual box.net code that sets my preferences as the default, but whenever I click the save button wordpress decides to put its own code back in, thus changing nothing. The codes are almost identical, too.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could fix this? Or is this something that needs to be altered slightly in wordpress?

The blog I need help with is trainergary.wordpress.com.

  2. It's all from Box's end.

Have you tried logging into the widget directly on your site? There are a few options there for arranging the content after you log in.

By the way, just FYI, as a site visitor I can also rearrange the content using the pull-down Menu. May make your default arrangement different than mine.

  3. Oh, it's perfectly fine that users can rearrange the files. I can't stop that. I just want to have it set my specific way at first so the most recent stuff is at the top. That's what people are more likely to click on.

I also did go to Box's site and rearranged everything how I wanted to, but WordPress just puts it back the way it wants every time.

  4. Don't do it on the Box site. Log in directly to your widget. Click the Menu in the upper right corner and you should see a log in link.

  5. And now I see what you mean! Sorry about that. It works perfectly now. If only I'd known I could change the settings there....

Thank you for your help (and patience). I like your duck picture, by the way.

  6. You're welcome! :)
