Bueno backgorund

  1. Hey all,

I am building my blog using Bueno. I've experimented with the background color and loading a picture into the background. No matter the scheme, a thick pink band decorates the bottom of the page, atop and as thick as the black band at the very bottom that says; "BLOG AT WORDPRESS.COM and THEME: BUENO BY WOOTHEMES..
How, or can I, eliminate this annoying swath?

    Happy New Year!
    Ed Fitzgerald

The blog I need help with is echolakeroad.net.

  2. Hi Ed. Here's more information about it, but you might change your mind after reading it...
    http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-do-i-remove-the-theme-by-and-blog-at-wordpresscom-info?replies=13

  3. Annoying? Surely you jest. You get a free blog and free hosting by wordpress.com and you object to that line that advertises that anyone else click the link and can do the same thing? I don't get that at all.

  4. ...timethief, my post clearly referred to the think pink band as annoying, not the black bar at the bottom of the page with the WordPress info...never one to look a gift horse...

  5. airodyssey - thanks for the link, but that is not my issue...I have no desire to remove the Wordpess info (seems a bit vain to me)...the issue is the incomplete change enacted by altering the background...I think the pink band is a layer of the default design that is not completely programmed...

  6. You can get rid of that pink band very easily --> Appearance --> Theme Options
__Color scheme __ Select an alternate color scheme
    "save changes"

    P.S. Sorry I misunderstood before.

  7. hey tt,
that just changes the color scheme for the typeface,
it doesn't affect that pink band.
tried that about a dozen different ways...

  8. ...go to my site and take a peek: echolakeroad.net

  9. ...the problem is, no matter the size of my background picture, the program won't let it cover down to the black bar...

  10. I have Bueno up on my test blog and have changed the color scheme over and over. The only way I get a pink band is if I choose the "default" color.

    --> Appearance --> Theme Options
__Color scheme __ Select an alternate color scheme like brown
Do not forget to click "save changes"

Then return and tell us what happened.

  11. ...the problem is, no matter the size of my background picture, the program won't let it cover down to the black bar...

That's right. The theme is not coded to consider that color band to be "background". Background is above the color band. No matter what you do you are going to get a color bar at the bottom so choose which color suits you.

  12. That pink or brown or whatever band at the bottom is for the bottom widgets (footer widgets). The only way to make it disappear, or to change the color is either selecting one of the other basic color schemes as TT suggests at appearance > theme options, or if you have some CSS editing experience, you can get the CSS upgrade and either make it disappear entirely (and not use the footer widgets) or change the color of it to your liking.

  13. ....thanks to all for the help; heartening on my first trip to the forums...believe I will take advantage of that bottom space for a few widgets...happy new year!

  14. You're welcome and happy new year to you as well, or as we say in Hawaii...
