Can´t upload Images

  1. Is there still a problem with uploading images? This seemed to resolve itself yesterday but again the 'add media' icon does nothing.

The blog I need help with is redqueenmusings.wordpress.com.

  2. I use Firefox 8 and I do not experience this problem. Will you please provide us with some details so we can try to help you?

    1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com?
    2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
    3. Which browser and version of it are you using?
    4. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies?
    5. If your browser version is outdated you can upgrade it here.
  3. I have the same problem.... but my add media icon works, but the select files doesn't! I was working with internet explorer and now I changed to firefox and the problem remains...

  4. Which browser and version of Firefox and IE are you using?

  5. I'm using Firefox version 8.0.1, not I.E.
Today I uploaded somethings in the morning, but in the afternoon and still now, I can't upload any images!!!

  6. I'm using the same browser and having no issues at all. That means you need to try some troubleshooting:
    1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

    2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

    3. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

Please provide an expanded version of what happens ie. I click the media icon and ....

  7. I am using Google Chrome and have been all along, the problem is intermittent. I couldn´t upload images at dinnertime, but tonight they are fine. It is very frustrating and only happened since the switch to the new version. Seems to click between old and new versions too

    2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

  9. Also, stats used to automatically load when I clicked on dashboard. This no longer happens - !!!

  10. Aha! That's a clue that added to Chrome leads us to Flash. You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

Try Firefox please also answer this question:

  11. Ah, it sounds like a Flash issue. Try upgrading your Flash and see if that helps.

  12. OK, not at all technical so where do I find out whether I am using http:// or https:// I think the former because I connect via broadband or as we call it here ADSL direct to my laptop.

The problem has only started over the last 2 days and as I haven´t done anything different can´t see it is my end. I don´t have any problems logging on to any other sites I use (i.e. forums where I add comments, images etc).

  13. You log-in either using
    http://redqueenmusings.wordpress.com/wp-admin
    or
    https://redqueenmusings.wordpress.com/wp-admin

  14. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up, etc.) and to your blog can be a factor.

  15. OK, I log in using http from my home laptop via broadband. I have just clicked on the https in personal settings so will see if that makes any difference.

  16. Just spotted this message

    >>>2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
You know know I was using http but have changed to https

    3. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
I clear browser and cookies each evening prior to logging off

Please provide an expanded version of what happens ie. I click the media icon and .

I click the media icon and nothing happens. I just sit staring into space. I then have to log out of my blog, log back in and sometimes whatever the fault has cleared and other times it hasnt

  17. Since changing a few minutes ago, it seems to be working OK, but I will reserve judgement until tomorrow to see if it is still the same.

Thanks for your help will let you know what happens.

  18. That's such great news. :)

P.S. Never ever hesitate to clear your browser cache and cookies. Browsers have aggressive caches these days so we clear them frequently. My Firefox browser set up to clear them automatically each and every time I leave the internet.
