Can I map the domain .gov/departments/library.cfm of my town's library to a purchased primary domain such as mytownslibrary.org? Does the fact that the current domain name belongs to a .gov site cause any problems? The town's cms is really stark and plain and I want to map both the existing .gov site and the to-be-purchased .org site to the wordpress.com site. Again, can this be done with a .gov site.
The blog I need help with is fobeslibrary.wordpress.com.
You can certainly map a full domain like example.gov to your WordPress.com, but .gov/departments/library.cfm is a file under a directory at a domain, not a domain itself.
Your webmaster may be able to write a redirect to send traffic from .gov/departments/library.cfm to your WordPress.com blog, but you won't be able to to map it.
