Can comments be automatically approved?

  1. Is there a way to have comments be automatically approved? Maybe this is highly unrecommended anyway?

The blog I need help with is scenthive.wordpress.com.

If this is the blog you are talking about, http://scenthive.wordpress.com/ , then yes. Go to settings > discussion and under "Before a comment appears" make sure both selections are NOT selected and then click "save changes" at the bottom of the page.

Also, when asking questions here in the forums, please give a link to your blog, or link your blog to your username as described in the sticky post at the top of the forums (yellow section) titled "8 things..." It helps the volunteers answer your questions faster, and many times we need to look at your actual blog to help you.

  3. Thanks SP! I will remember to always link my blog, no matter how general the question seems. Sorry about that. You've helped me before and your advice is much appreciated and very straightforward for a newbie like me!

  4. You're very welcome.

  5. scenthive,
You might consider that there is a straightforward way to link your blog to your name. It's useful when you ask questions in the forums, and also when you comment on other blogs:

    2. How to make your name link to your blog:
Go into your dashboard -> users -> your profile -> then scroll down to 'contact info'. In the spot where it says 'website' fill in the address of your blog and save the changes.
Now... when you comment here and on other blogs, your name will link to your blog. If you do this before you post your request for help, it will allow forum volunteers to be able to help you quicker since they won't have to ask you for a link and wait until you come back to post one.
