   I searched adding Google Analytics and have seen the answer that it can't be added to wordpress.com sites.

   I bought a site from WP so the address is http://www.seniorcontentment.com and not the blog URL that's here, above this query. So what I'm wondering is whether GA can be added to a "stand-alone" site such as mine.

   I'm afraid not, as seniorcontentment.com is just a new name (address) for your website. Underneath it's still the same WordPress.com blog.

   We do have, however, statistics for your blog that you might want to take a look at.
