I watched a couple of tutorials of how to add header images on a themes, but they all already had an image which was then replaced. Sundance doesn't have an image which I should, according to this protocol, replace. Is there some tutorial on how to do it and is it even possible to do it?

Yes, you can add a custom header image to Sundance by going to Appearance -> Header in your Dashboard. Some themes, like Sundance, don't have a custom header image by default, but this should not impact your ability to add one of your own.
